This project provides 50 vulnerable young women and mothers in Namayingo, Uganda, with a 2-week intensive commercial artisan baking and entrepreneurship training program. By supplying baking kits, practical vocational skills, and business mentorship, we empower participants to build sustainable small businesses and secure steady household income.
In rural Namayingo District, Uganda, 50 young women and mothers face severe unemployment and financial dependency due to a lack of market-relevant vocational skills. Without regular income, mothers struggle to afford daily essentials, nutritious food, and healthcare for their children, trapping vulnerable rural households in persistent cycles of poverty.
Mercy of God Mission provides a 2-week intensive commercial baking and entrepreneurship curriculum in Namayingo. Trainees master artisan bread production, food safety, inventory management, and marketing. Each graduate receives a starter baking supply kit and ongoing business mentorship to successfully launch a profitable village bakery.
This project permanently lifts 50 vulnerable young women and mothers in Namayingo out of poverty by equipping them with lifelong commercial baking skills. Graduates will establish profitable micro-enterprises, generating sustained year-round household income, feeding over 250 family members, and fostering local economic self-reliance.
