Thanks to your generous support, Global Girl Project has been working in Uganda through our partnership with Soccer Without Borders, training refugee girls from DRC, Rwanda, and South Sudan in Kampala to lead change.
We are currently running a May–July cohort with a new group of 30 girls. During their 3month leadership journey, the girls attend weekly sessions where they explore the power in their voices, identify local issues, and learn practical leadership skills in project planning and advocacy.
These young leaders will design and deliver a community event on issues they choose. Previously, girls led events on ending child marriage, dangers of child abuse, menstrual hygiene, addressing refugee discrimination and climate. Since 2023, 110+ girls have led 8 community events reaching 500+ community members, with 77% reporting stronger leadership skills and 79% feeling more confident speaking out.
The $42 raised has contributed towards one girl’s education grant, keeping her in school and fully engaged in leadership training. Thank you for making this possible.
