Train 100 Girls to Lead Community Change in Nepal

Thanks to your generous support, Global Girl Project has been working in Nepal through our partnership with Rise Up Foundation, training girls from marginalised communities in Kathmandu to lead social justice initiatives and community change.

Between January and March 2026, we completed our second cohort of the Global Girl Leadership Academy with 16 girls. During their 3month leadership journey, the girls attended weekly sessions facilitated through our partner, Rise Up Foundation Nepal, where they explored the power in their voices, identified local issues, and learned practical leadership skills in project planning and advocacy.

These young leaders designed and delivered a community event addressing low access to girls' education – driven by poverty, early marriage, and lack of awareness. They planned and led every aspect: a welcome performance, speeches, an interactive quiz, and a discussion with 40 community members. One parent made a powerful commitment: “From today, I promise I will support my daughter to continue her studies and not allow early marriage.”

One graduate shared: “I realised that I can also be a leader, and if we raise our voices, we can bring change in our community.”

The $248 raised has funded five education grants, keeping girls in school and fully engaged in leadership training. We are currently running our third cohort with another 20 girls, continuing to build leadership skills and community action. Thank you for making this possible.
