By David Stillman PhD | Project Leader, Executive Director PPAF
Dear Donors and all Readers,
You are cordially invited to participate in the event we are holding next Wednesday evening, March 14, enitled "Clean Cooking for Sustainable Development." We and four of our collaborating organizations will make presentations on recent progress related to the PPAF GlobalGiving project "Tracking clean cookstoves & fuel in Haiti." The UN Association of the USA - Southern NYS Division is co-hosting the event, which is to take place at the UN Foundation, 801 Second Ave, New York City.
To register, RSVP to jinka.stillman@gmail.com as soon as possible, as seating is limited. We will also live-stream the event on FaceBook in order to reach more people. Please let us know if you plan to watch.
Our event ties to the 62nd Annual Session of the UN Commission on the Status of Women, whose main theme this year is the empowerment of women and girls, especially in rural settings. This is very important and relevant to our efforts, as can be seen in the donation categories of our GlobalGiving project.
The panelists include -
The speakers represent organizations working to advance solar and biogas cookstoves and fuel to improve health and daily life in families, create small business opportunities for women and girls, and fight against environmental degradation.
Registration in the conference room starts at 5:30 pm. The event itself will run from 6:15 to 8:30 pm, including presentations and discussion.
