Stories from Malaika: updates from the project

By Giulia Leone | Project Leader

Our young adults are continuing to make incredible strides toward their futures.

Each of them is pursuing a path aligned with their own aspirations: one young woman is about to graduate in Economics, another is in her final year of Nursing, one young man is in his final year to become a Social Worker, and another is in his second year of Cyber Security. Meanwhile, others are taking vocational training courses to prepare for the workforce.

Two more have already begun working. While their journey toward independence is more advanced, Malaika continues to cover their health insurance costs, providing a vital safety net against unforeseen events.

Through our “Towards Independence” project, these young men and women are learning to live autonomously, yet it is beautiful to see how they continue to rely on each other. They tend to live together, sharing grocery shopping and cooking dinners spending quality time with one another. Seeing them manage these daily responsibilities while supporting each other is the most tangible result of their journey into adulthood.

This ongoing chapter is only possible thanks to your constant support. Your impact is profound: together, we are laying the foundation upon which these young people are building their lives.

We invite you to consider ongoing support for Malaika. Even a small, regular contribution makes a huge difference, ensuring the stability and continuity of our programs.
