The Tote Me Home project was begun by the Collinsville Food Pantry at the request of the School District. They were having many children come to school hungry on Monday mornings. This created behavior problems with the children and affected their performance in the classroom. The Pantry began distributing a few bags over 13 schools for the children to have food over the weekend. Our number increased every year. We are now up to 213 bags a week. We have 4 menus that we rotate so that the food is not always the same. The one thing that is the same is cereal. We are able to purchase the cereal from the local Dollar Tree store. Since this is a product that we use almost every week they are able to order it and we purchase what we need. This has been a huge convenience for us. The price for 224 boxes of cereal is $280.00. By continuing to support us this is one of the items that you help to buy. Thank you for your support. We need it!
