December 2023, NairoBits commemorated a significant milestone with the successful graduation of our dedicated program participants. A sense of accomplishment and inspiration marked the event as students, trainers, parents, and staff came together to celebrate the culmination of months of hard work and dedication.
We were honored to have Nelly Ndonye, Regional Director of TurnLeft Media, LinkedIn Marketing Solutions Sub-Saharan Africa, as our esteemed Chief Guest. Her insightful remarks resonated with attendees, emphasizing the importance of continuous upskilling, cultivating essential soft skills, expanding networks, and stepping beyond comfort zones.
Martin Gathu, our InnTech Manager, shared the success of guiding 399 program participants into the next phase of their lives and the esteemed NairoBits Alumni community. He emphasized the critical role of nurturing a robust alumni network, highlighting the potential impact of alumni contributions.
The presence of esteemed alumni members, including Eric from Microsoft and Davie from Google, added a special dimension to the graduation ceremony. Their success stories exemplify the profound impact of our programs.
As we commemorate this significant milestone, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed to making NairoBits 2023 Graduation a resounding success. This includes the trainers, parents, family members, staff, and service providers for their unwavering support. Congratulations to the Class of '23!
Fundraising Report:
The fundraiser, organized by the NairoBits Alumni group, was a remarkable success. With the collective efforts of our alumni and the generous contributions from our partners, we successfully raised a total of $2000. NairoBits and the alumni matched this amount, doubling the impact of the fundraiser.
Student Awards:
During the graduation ceremony, we had the privilege of awarding the top students with computers to jumpstart their careers in the tech industry. The top male student, Bernard, class of '23 valedictorian, and the top female student, Faozia, were recognized for their outstanding achievements.
Student Updates:
Since graduation, our students have been actively pursuing their passions and aspirations. Faozia, the top female student, has been attending hackathons and diligently honing her coding skills while balancing her responsibilities at home. Her dedication and commitment are commendable; we proudly support her on her journey.
