Porridge heals and attracts other villages.

By Karl Weyrauch | Project Leader

Porridge brings strength to the people
Porridge brings strength to the people

The porridge program in Kagohwa is attracting a lot of attention because it restores health and saves lives.  Other villages nearby have found out and are asking to join.  It may have been the news about Ornella and Ruphin, two young children who dramatically regained health from the porridge feedings, that drew them in.  Or, the news that the pregnant women who get porridge simply feel and look much stronger.

They and other children who suffer from malnutrition are now back to normal after a few months of porridge. Their hair has turned from faded yellow to black, and their laughter has returned. Instead of lying around listlessly, they now smile and play with their friends.

In the nearby Batwa vilages of Nyangabazimu, and Kibanda, many chidlren still suffer from the same level of malnutrition.  And they too could benefit from porridge and tools. All it takes is the good work of our team on the ground...and donors like you who make this life-saving effort possible.  Thank you!
