Urban Poor Women Development (UPWD)

Introduction:
On behalf of the Urban Poor Women Development, We truly thank you for GlobalGiving Fund team and donator which funded to members of poor communities in Phnom Penh Cambodia in the project save women and children during Covid-19. Till now we do not got funding from the donors. But we still have some small activity for community:
Activity 1: Organizing the Staff meeting
Thequarterly staff meeting was conducted as schedule with project team as European, Women UN- MISEROR and SIDA fund team. Total 12 staff (one man).The agenda such as 1. Reporting achievement, 2. Challenges, 3. Develop next plan, 4. Present the financial and staff and policy and 4. Others had discussed. As result staff able to share what they have been done in past quarterly, develop next plan, exchange experience and good practice from each project staff and clear on how to develop next plan as well as finance and staff policy. Other issue such as political pressure or narrow democracy issue also share and how to develop new methodology for implementing the project.
Activity 2: Sstaff Feld visit
UPWD is working with community grassroot level, all staff from management to field staff set up their own plan for facilitate target community one or two time a month for one community. The work are mobilize community members to attend the activity as such community monthly meeting, campaign on climate change and sanitation, child education, Gender and domestic violence and how to develop community priority plan for integrated in to commune investment plan. Through this, 31 target community able to prepare their community priority action plan and then engage with local authority to discuss on commune investment plan. 12 commune were discuss on their plan and promised to integrated their community planning into commune investment plan for next year 2024. The event also empower community for advocacy to improve basic services and women right. As result forum that community leader total 90 (18men) play importance role to lobby and do smooth advocacy with local authority, they also have skill on leadership and mobilization as well.
Activity 3: Supporting to People Organization Community Development (POCD)
POCD is the group who was established since 2013 by their community members facilitate by UPWD.This group is representative all target community working specific on women right and livelihood. Their stratergict work focus on women empowerment by mobilize community to be organized , prepare community structure, monitoring, follow up community activity and assist community for develop community action plan. Other task working on conduct awareness on land right, Gender Base Violence (GBV) and health, sanitation as well as child education.
Activity 4: Staff capacity development
Capacity development on monitoring, DO NO HARM had provided to staff. Through this we found that staff are able to practice on monitoring system and how to find outcome and impact from the project. Beside this through capacity devilment on DO NO HARM also assist staff how to work and make good environment and enable community to be happy to participated in our project.
