Quarterly  report 2023

Introduction:

On behalf of the  Urban Poor Women Development,  We truly thank you for GlobalGiving Fund team and donator which funded to members of poor communities in Phnom Penh Cambodia in the project Recovery post Covid-19 for women and children

Activity

 

 Urban Poor Women Development Organization conducted the semester meeting on the Women's Capacity Building Project, which focused on improving livelihood and reducing all forms of violence against women and children, with the target communities at God New Church. The purpose of the meeting was to reflect the progress of the project implementation. 39 female focal persons from the target community shared information on results of the project implementation with a particular focus on gender-based violence, domestic violence, small business management, climate change, etc. The meeting also discussed challenges faced during the project implementation and identified possible solutions which were later included in the work plan for the next semester.   

 

Result of the project: women reported that they have been consult with women who face with domestic violence, business problem and how to deal on domestic violence and coaching to women on business (family business planning), 50 women got this consultation on Domestic Violence and coaching on business planning in 15 communities. 

Challenges: During implementation, we found that  women face with low income and Hight expend. Some member sole their property to pay for dept, and children can not go to school regularly, poorest member could not attended the activity fully as they have no time.

Solutions: UPWD conducted capacity development to women who have small business and forming in to group such as vegetable group, mobile selling group etc. Other activity on Commune Investment Plan have been done in 12 commune. The meeting is enable for women to raise their concern, problem related to their food security, business facing and improve basic services. The meeting also make opportunity for community to engage with local authority and working closely to deal issue and improve basic services as well as advocacy activities for local community level.  

Conclusion : The meeting sharing achievement to each other and women are play importance role on leadership, management and facilitation skill very well.
