Free Livelihood Trainings for Street Youths In Metro Manila.

As part of the skills and livelihood training, Childhope Philippines’ Street Youth Empowerment Project (SYEP) conducted free livelihood training on dishwashing liquid making, and meat processing for 18 street youth participants. It was held last July 31 and August 1, at Childhope Philippines Foundation headquarter. This training was conducted in response to the livelihood need of the out-of-school youth participants.
Dishwashing Liquid Training
The training had demonstrated the procedure on how to make a dishwashing liquid. The participants got involved in mixing the ingredients during the actual demonstration.
Meat Processing
In this training, street youth participants learned about the fundamental principles of food processing – why it is done, what concepts underlie food processing methods, and more. During the first day of the training, street youth participants learned how to make homemade pork tocino and skinless longganisa. While on the second day, they taught on how to make homemade embotido and pork siomai. The two-day training demonstrated to street youth participants the procedure on meat preservation, quality control, product costing, and hands-on processing. The participants got involved in mixing the ingredients during the actual demonstration. They also learned how to cook the products properly and the condiments as well.
Some finished products were given to the participants as recognition for their active participation while the other finished products were reserved for the Livelihood Fair held last August 30, 2021. Watch the live stream of Livelihood Fair 2.0
Childhope Ph Street Youth Empowerment Project Coordinator, Mr. Amante, and his Technical Assistant, Ms. Teodosio were thankful for the participation and determination of the street youth participants to learn the procedure and use it as their livelihood project. Childhope Philippines will continue to help in uplifting the lives of these street youth and follow through to see the result of the training.
