With Covid slowly being less of an immediate threat, the time has come to pivot from relief to education. After having distributed more than 100,000 pounds of rice to over 2,000 families to ensure their survival, we are now focusing on long term help for the families in the most remote areas of Chitwan.
HimalayanLife being an organization focused on sustainable transformation, we firmly believe in the power of education. We are therefore pivoting to providing access to schooling to the families of the Chepang community in the Rapti Nagarpalika Word No 11, 12, and 13. Collaboration with the local school has commenced. we are supporting children of families whose homes are up to 4 hours of walking distance away from the school, so that they have access to hostel facilities close to the school. Currently, 30 children are being supported in this way.
