As the third wave has been ravaging through the country of Nepal, Covid has come closer to home for us at Himalayan Life. With staff members getting ill and a few having to be hospitalized, the danger of the virus has been tangible in the last few months.
Continued lockdowns across the country have attempted to slow the transmission, yet the impact on the livelihoods of families has been devastating, leaving families without food for days at a time. Himalayan Life’s team has been working hard to address these needs for families. In the last three months, 400 adults and 250 children have been given relief packages in jungle communities across the Chitwan region.
Loveson, the project leader in Chitwan, told us that one lady expressed her deepest gratitude for the relief items sharing that for some days her family has been without food and now with the relief package, they can eat for days without worry!
We are grateful for the donations that allow this work to continue!
