Nepal has finished its first wave of the COVID-19 virus and active case numbers are relatively low. Although restrictions have loosened, the grip of poverty on families and communities across the country has not. The Himalayan Life Team in Chitwan continues to address this intense need by feeding around 30 street children daily and providing aid for more than 200 families in their communites.
On a weekly basis, the HimalayanLife Chitwan team is reaching out with relief items to impoverished families. On Christmas day, a roadside Christmas celebration for the Chepang community on the edge of the jungle was organized. A feast was cooked up and presents of essential relief supplies such as rice, oil, tea and spices were handed out to each family that joined in.
