“We all know that there have been no formal events during this pandemic but we have the opportunity to help the poor. So during this time we have distributed relief to about 180-190 families in need in many different places.” - Loveson, Himalayan Life Chitwan, Project Director
As Loveson reports, his team has been able to distribute relief packages to many families in southern Nepal. These packages include a sack of rice and cooking oil, the basis of every Nepalese diet.
Not only have the Chitwan Team been reaching out to marginalized families, but they have also been giving meals to street children in the evenings. As financial pressures weigh heavily on families during the pandemic, we expect the number of street children to increase. The Himalayan Life team in Chitwan are beginning to meet this increasing need by bringing pre-packaged food to the street children.
Thank you to all those who have donated so far to help make these relief efforts possible!
