Thank you for supporting the Tibetan Girls in Sports project on the GlobalGiving platform! The girls are looking forward to getting back out on the soccer fields for spring training!
Following the soccer project launch in October, three coaches were paid for the fall training period at two high schools and one middle school. In their uniforms and equipment, the girls looked and felt ready-for-action. And, although all kids love a vacation, these young athletes were just building confidence in their skills and were reluctant to say good-by to their teammates for the long winter break.
Weekend training will resume when students return to their schools at the beginning of March. Now that the teams are prepped, we need to make sure that we have the funds on-hand to continue the soccer program for these Tibetan girls.
Unfortunately we are well short of our funding goal.
Tibetans will also celebrate Losar (Tibetan New Year 2149) in early March. This would be a wonderful time to join in the festivities by extending a generous new year greeting in the form of a donation to the Tibetan Girls in Sports project.
Your contribution to this project helps to make possible the continuation of The Bridge Fund's work to reach Tibetans in Tibet with the support they request and for which we are all very grateful.
With every good wish for a Happy Losar from The Bridge Fund!
