Millions of young people in South Africa navigate acute adversity daily, from poverty and violence to structural inequality. The true crisis lies in the sheer lack of support: nearly 90% of youth experiencing distress cannot access mental health services due to shortages and stigma. Without community-based psychosocial care, unaddressed trauma harms potential and well-being. Accessible counselling for youth and families is vital to foster healing and resilience in vulnerable communities.
The Youth Hub meets this challenge by providing free, accessible counselling, psychosocial support, and psycho-educational guidance directly within underserved communities. Rather than treating youth in isolation, we actively wrap care around their primary care circles to build sustainable family resilience and intergenerational healing. To deepen our impact, we are scaling community workshops, training peer mentors, and extending outreach so no young person faces adversity alone.
