Milana is a bright and curious little girl who faces serious daily challenges due to a rare genetic condition. She has been diagnosed with Primary Coenzyme Q10 Deficiency, Type 9 - a disorder with an autosomal recessive inheritance pattern that significantly affects the energy metabolism of her cells. As a complication of this condition, Milana also suffers from ataxic cerebral palsy, which severely limits her mobility and independence.
Milana is raised by a single mother who cares for her daughter entirely on her own, without any external support. Everything related to her care, therapy, and nutrition depends solely on her mother. The cost of the specialized medical nutrition, which is critical for stabilizing Milana's condition, has become an overwhelming financial burden for the family.
Thanks to your generous support through the GlobalGiving platform, we were able to respond to the family's request immediately.
The Kyian Foundation provided a two-month supply of specialized nutrition, carefully selected to meet Milana's medical needs. This is more than just food - it is a vital part of Milana’s daily fight for life, development, and every new day she gets to live.
Milana’s mother shared with us:
“I’m raising my daughter alone, and it’s extremely difficult to provide everything she needs. This special nutrition is very expensive. I am sincerely grateful to everyone who helps children like mine. Thank you from the bottom of my heart!”
For Milana, this nutrition is not a luxury - it is essential for survival. It supports her strength, boosts her immunity, and allows her body to function despite the heavy toll of a rare genetic disorder.
Stories like Milana’s are only possible thanks to people like you - those who choose to care and take action.
Together, we bring not only help, but hope. And there are many more children like Milana who need us. Let’s continue on this path of support and compassion.
With respect and gratitude,
The Kyian Foundation Team
