Therapeutic Camps for Seriously Ill Children

This summer, Bátor Tábor was once again filled with laughter, friendship, and unforgettable experiences.

Across five camp sessions, a total of 347 campers experienced the power of community, play, and shared experiences, supported by 478 dedicated volunteers.

This year, we welcomed children and families to several different types of camps. Children aged 7–14 and teenagers aged 14–18 attended dedicated sessions, while we also welcomed families from Slovakia and the Czech Republic. In our two sibling camps, children living with serious illnesses had the opportunity to relax, have fun, and connect with their healthy siblings in a supportive and joyful environment.

This summer also marked a very special milestone for Bátor Tábor. In the very year we celebrate our 25th anniversary, our 15,000th camper joined us!

Twenty-five years ago, our very first camp welcomed just 35 children. Since then, 15,000 campers have experienced what it feels like when, for a while, illness is no longer at the center of their lives – when experiences, friendships, laughter, and moments of freedom take its place.

None of this would be possible without your support. We are deeply grateful for your help, which enables us to continue working year after year to give children and families living with serious illnesses experiences that bring them joy, connection, and strength – even in the most difficult moments of their lives.
