Dear Friends and Supporters,
Here is a snapshot of what your support made possible over the last three months in our respiratory care unit at the Hospital de Niños de Valencia.
We served 90 children during this period — an average of 30 per month. Of those, 90% were diagnosed and treated entirely within the hospital, avoiding transfers and ensuring continuity of care in a familiar, safe environment.
One of the highlights of this quarter was the unit's collaboration with the neonatal ward. By extending respiratory support to newborns, we helped reduce the incidence of respiratory complications in newborns by 15% — a result that speaks for itself.
On the treatment side, our team managed and followed up on 18 long-term treatment plans: 7 for respiratory infections and 11 for ongoing monitoring and control of chronic conditions. Each of these children is being tracked closely, with adjustments made to their treatment as needed.
None of this happens without you. Thank you for continuing to make every breath count.
With gratitude,
Friends of the Children of Venezuela
