The value of a breath

We are pleased to inform you that your generous contribution, provided by multiple donors through this platform, has enabled the acquisition of advanced diagnostic equipment and the funding of essential research for the treatment of respiratory diseases in children.
Over the past 3 months, we have tirelessly continued to care for more than 15 pediatric respiratory patients per day. Thanks to the state-of-the-art equipment donated to improve early diagnoses and treatments of complex pulmonary diseases, we have been able to preventively diagnose over 30% of the cases of patients arriving at the emergency department.
We have provided 250 pediatric patients with medicines to cure respiratory diseases, achieving a 98% success rate in their recovery.

During the year 2023, the pulmonary function laboratory experienced significant advancements and achievements. With the implementation of a new data centralization system at the Hospital, the laboratory was able to acquire precise statistics for each patient, facilitating better monitoring of their treatment progress. Despite the challenges faced, including those posed by the global health crisis, access to pulmonary diagnostic tests and treatments for children's pulmonary diseases markedly improved. Throughout the year, the establishment of the laboratory also fostered collaborative efforts, such as training programs and medical equipment donations, in partnership with international organizations.

More than 9,300 newborns and children was benefited from Friends program at the pediatric Hospital during 2023, and 23% of this cases was a pulmonary diseases,  obtaining positive results for the patient in 96%.

Of the funds raised through GlobalGiving, 100% has been allocated to equipping this laboratory, as administrative expenses of the foundation are covered by the founders.

At the pediatric hospital, Friends donated a total of 10,000 medicines during 2023, with a significant percentage allocated to the pulmonary laboratory.
