Project Summary
EEqual launched the Power of YOUth campaign on GlobalGiving. The campaign worked to highlight the power of youth leadership on the issue of student homelessness. The campaign focused on EEqual’s Chapters program, a nationwide network of afterschool community service clubs led by youth. EEqual’s own story was used as a centerpiece of the campaign, demonstrating that young people can make meaningful progress in the fight against poverty.
EEqual launched a series of videos and social media posts to inspire people to donate through the GlobalGiving platform. The goal was to raise $2,000 to support EEqual’s Chapters program. To date, the campaign has raised $1,685. EEqual’s team debriefed the campaign and identified two areas of opportunity. First, the campaign narrative needed a more explicit call to action. Donors want to know what their donation is going towards. Second, the campaign needed more supporting content. Posts like individual stories or narratives might help better motivate donors.
Overall, EEqual was pleased with the GlobalGiving experience. This campaign was a way to test the waters, so mission accomplished. EEqual plans to continue to engage the GlobalGiving community with future projects.
Progress Report
Since the campaign EEqual’s Chapters program has been in full swing in preparation for the beginning of the school year. The Chapters program has been executing a massive recruitment strategy focused on three major metropolitan areas: Chicago, Denver, and San Francisco. These efforts have already led to 9 new EEqual chapters in these areas. The EEqual Chapter team has also designed curriculum and engagement materials that will roll out starting in September 2022. EEqual is on track to meet its goal of doubling the number of EEqual Chapters by the end of 2022!
