Thank you all for being supporters of The Play Space - A Youth Robotics Makerspace! Just wanted to give you all a quick update to let you all know what has been going on!
Summer was a lot of fun!
We hosted 8 weeks of youth robotics summer camps at the building. More than 75 9-14 year-olds were given a solid introduction to robotics and FIRST LEGO League!
The FIRST LEGO League (FLL) and FIRST Tech Challenge (FTC) seasons opened with a flourish with kickoff events at Intel Santa Clara and Intel Folsom for FLL and at The Play Space for FTC. Approximately 800 attended the FLL kickoff events and more than 400 came to the Play Space for FTC.
The last two months we have hosted 5-6 rookie coach workshops for FLL and FTC, serving more than 200 coaches and mentors. Simultaneously, we have been working with our volunteer tournament directors for FLL and FTC to coordinate the more than 45 tournaments that will take place in the coming month and will support the more than 600 youth robotics teams that will participate!
The next couple of months will be crazy busy, including at least 2-3 FLL and FTC tournaments taking place at The Play Space ... all made possible by your incredible support!
If you get a chance, come see one of the events and see what youth robotics teams can accomplish!
As always, we continue to be challenged in raising sufficient funding to add staff and programs and truly appreciate the support you have all shown us so far this year!
Thank You5
