Spring 2010

Dear Supporters,

The Spring has been very busy for the List Project! We have been working hard to raise awareness of and funds for our work. Our volunteers nationwide have been active, hosting house parties and taking part in local events to raise money for our Iraqi allies. We recently had our first event in L.A.--pairing with a partnering organization, we held a screening of a new film and an after-party to raise awareness of our work on the West Coast.

TLP has been busy on the advocacy front as well. This week we are releasing an advocacy paper, Tragedy on the Horizon. The report examines how the American withdrawal from Iraq will impact the thousands of Iraqis who are currently working for the U.S. and surveys the history of withdrawal by Coalition allies in Iraq, as well as numerous historical examples (Vietnam, Algeria, and the final period of the American Revolution, to name a few) to shed light on the moral and strategic imperatives posed by withdrawal. Despite the decline in day-to-day violence, the List Project foresees a bloody end for many U.S.-affiliated Iraqis if there are not any contingency plans for their swift evacuation in the final period of the war. The List Project offers specific recommendations to the Obama administration, Congress, and to various Government departments to ensure that we do not repeat the tragic mistakes of the past as we leave Iraq.

Thank you for your continued support! Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any questions.
