Dear Supporter,
Our fundraising for The FIGS Club has got off to an amazing start. We are a third of the way there thanks to your generosity.
In the meantime we have begun critical work on the project. In July our team at New Guinea Binatang Research Centre visited the Wanang Community and Conservation School to discuss how best to select students and implement our program. Staff met with community leaders, teachers and students, and together we developed our next steps.
The FIGS Club is scheduled to start in December during the school holidays in Papua New Guinea. Our students are very excited to learn about conservation and science, and demand for a place in the program is huge. In recognition of this, our team has expanded our fundraising efforts and are in talks with a number of local foundations who have expressed interest, like you, in supporting this important initiative.
With a little luck, and some more hard work, we believe The FIGS Club will be a longstanding program at Wanang Conservation School which will change the lives of hundreds of children over the coming years.
