Dear MTM Family,
After months and months of what seemed like never ending suffering and sadness brought upon Liberia by the Ebola epidemic, we are finally able to celebrate an Ebola-Free Liberia and the reopening of the More Than Me Academy! While we are continuing to support many Ebola survivors as they rebuild their lives and return to normalcy, we have also shifted our focus back to our main mission: to ensure that when our girls graduate, they get to determine what comes next for their lives. After taking in 35 new students, including Ebola orphans, we are continuing to get more orphans into MTM as soon as possible. School is open, bustling with activities, and operations are almost back in full swing!
We couldn’t have done it without you. Your support helped us to be a strong force on the front lines of Ebola with our ambulance team while also providing counseling, resources, and aid in Ebola treatment. Thank you. As we move forward and shift our focus back to the MTM Academy, we have decided to deactivate this project. We have big plans for the future, including a boarding school where our girls can be in a safe environment 24/7. You can still fund our ongoing education programs through donating directly to our website or through our Help Students Catch Up After Ebola GlobalGiving project. Thank you for all that you do for us.
Sending thanks and love from your More Than Me family,
Helen, Project Intern, and the More Than Me Team
