The Choice Is Yours

Happy 2024! Our Staff have been hard at work planning ahead to make 2024 an enjoyable, and successful year for our Children, full of fun, learning and lots of love.

In Zambia, the Children have just returned to the Village and are getting ready for the new school year. At Kasisi, our Foundation House, our new children have arrived and are settling in well and looking forward to starting lessons with our expert home schooling team.

Over the winter break we also replaced the roofs on the girls' accommodation blocks, which not only reduces leaks and noise when it’s raining, but has also brightened the Girls rooms. This was all possible thanks to our generous supporters, The JAF Foundation; we are so grateful for their ongoing support of our Children. 

Exams are continuing in our Indian Village with Classes 10 & 12 now approaching their exams. Their hard work and dedication have brought them to this point, and we have no doubt they will all excel and come through with flying colors! 

In November, Diwali, the major Hindu festival for our Indian children, was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The children decorated their homes with lights, marigold flowers and traditional “Rangolis”(coloured sand art) . They collectively participated in the prayer gathering and had delicious festive meals. Traditional oil lamps and fairy lights were used to light up the Village. The evening ended with children dancing to folk songs and their favorite dance numbers.

Our Children in Nepal have been enjoying their winter break, spending time with their friends and helping each other. The children have been enjoying spending time outdoors, taking part in a Nature Scavenger Hunt, and helping teach each other different skills, including cooking and knitting. They also ran a Storytelling session, giving them the opportunity to be creative, and write their own stories. We love the bond our Children have, and how they are always helping each other.

The Village has also been celebrating the Children’s sporting and academic success. We want to say a huge congratulations to all our children, we are so proud of everything that they have achieved!

On Friday 12th January the entire Pestalozzi World team got together online to mark Pestalozzi’s birthday. This was a great chance  for our Teams to get together and to share, and celebrate all our successes in 2023 for our Village Teams & for our supporting Team in the UK.

Our Children and Teams would like to say a special thank you to you, our supporters.
