When I commenced at the Caritas Centre I didn’t know anything about working in a beauty salon. After studying at the Caritas Centre we were encouraged to learn - make-up, hairstyling, as well as body treatment. After six months of study at the Caritas Centre, I’ve learned to style and make-up others.
I am very grateful to Caritas Centre because with the skill I am now independent. I can make from a business and am no longer reliant on my parents. After completion of the course, there are materials and tools that I received from Caritas, as well as loans. I think I’ve used these well and developed a business myself. Of course setting up a business is difficult and there have been constraints.
For instance, I am competing with many established salons, and I do not have my own bike to go and buy goods. But I learned well at the Caritas Centre, and I knew setting up my own business would not always be smooth. My goal in the future, is to pay off my loans and run my studio.
