California Disaster Relief for Immigrants

By Vanessa Bechtel | President & CEO

Thank you so much to all who have been contribuitng to this vital partnership serivng our undocumented neighbors.

Most recently, our efforts have been focused on serving undocumented families whose homes and/ or cars were severely damaged during the winter storms.  Many of these families were impacted by the wildfires and also pandemic.  Over the past few months, $65,000 was granted out to 76 households with an average of $600 per family.

Language justice continues to be a challenge as information is failing to reach many Mixteco speaking families in our community.

More must be done to serve immigrant families who are largely excluded from other funding sources.

Our goal is to raise funds in advance of disasters so that we can meet the immediate needs of undocumented families when disaster strikes.
