Establish a Thalassemia Center in Karachi serving thousands of patients across the city. Sundas Foundation requests funding for medical equipment (blood bank fridge, centrifuge, transfusion and dialysis chairs). Government provides space; Sundas covers operational costs. Services include free transfusions, chelation therapy, genetic counseling, and lab diagnostics.
Karachi's size and population put heavy pressure on public hospitals. Many low-income families cannot afford regular transfusions or chelation drugs, and unscreened blood exposes patients to HCV and HBV. Awareness of carrier screening and genetic counseling is limited.
The center will provide free, screened transfusions, iron chelation therapy, genetic counseling and diagnostics. The government provides space; Sundas runs operations, staffing and community awareness programs.
Better survival and quality of life for thousands of patients, reduced financial strain, and fewer new cases through counseling and screening.
