Thankful 16 year old looking forward to 2nd grade
On September 7 - 8 2015 Vision for Haiti will launch its textbook program for 650 students who attend the four elementary schools in the rural village of Meyer, Haiti. Because of your support, many families that could not afford to send their children to school now have access to an education. This book program would not be possible without your generosity; thank you for making a difference in so many lives.
During our trip to Meyer in July, enthusiastic students and parents attended the registration for the book program. This 16 year old is looking foward to entering the 2nd grade, having just completed the 1st grade. Her family was forced to make great sacrifices for her to attend her first year of school last year and were uncertain if they could afford to send her for the coming school year. She is so grateful to have the opportunity to continue her education and acknowledges that this would not be possible without the book program. This girl thanks you because you gave her hope.
This grandmother wanted to express her sincerest thanks to everyone that made this program posssible. Knowing the importance of an education, this grandmother walked two hours to ensure her four grandchildren were registered for the upcoming school year. She is committed to raising her grandchildren with the best education she can provide for them. So happy and grateful for the opportunity this program is providing for her family, she walked another two hours that same day to give Vision for Haiti 3 eggs to show her appreciation.
