Escalating conflict is triggering displacement and disrupting aid access across the region. In Lebanon families are fleeing airstrikes, Syrians are crossing back into Syria, and in Gaza even brief aid disruptions immediately worsen hunger and public health risks.
The Middle East conflict has set food insecurity outcomes for 2026 and 2027 in some of the world's most fragile countries. Disruptions to fuel, fertilizer, and shipping are quickly affecting countries that rely on imports. This is in turn impacting current planting seasons in places like Somalia, Ethiopia, and Pakistan. In Somalia, Sudan, Pakistan, Ethiopia and Myanmar, more than 60 million people are already in need of humanitarian assistance, with response plans significantly underfunded.
Your gift today will go where it is needed most, helping Mercy Corps mobilise our teams in response to humanitarian crises in places like Lebanon and Gaza, to deliver lifesaving assistance to Yemeni children displaced by violent conflict, support farmers threatened by drought in Somalia, Kenya, and Ethiopia, assist communities with recovery after earthquakes in Afghanistan and Syria, and so much more.
Thanks to the support of our donors and partners, Mercy Corps remains hard at work, and we are working to meet urgent needs and support communities in despite ongoing conflict. In Syria, Yemen, Ethiopia, Somalia, Pakistan, Ukraine and more, we are providing cash and voucher assistance to displaced families, helping farmers increase food production, and supporting local markets to keep essential goods moving; in turn helping communities recover, prosper and shape their own future.
