Lutheran Services Carolinas (LSC) is still on the ground in North and South Carolina assisting Hurricane Florence survivors. Since the storm hit the Carolinas in September 2018, LSC has provided case management and other services to 410 households, representing 849 individuals.
The disaster case management services that LSC provides allows survivors to rebuild their lives – whether it is finding temporary shelter, connecting to community resources, repairing homes or just providing a listening ear. Take for instance, Samantha, a single mother of five children who had bounced around living with friends for nearly a year after being displaced by the hurricane. With the support of generous donors, LSC was able to help her and her children secure stable housing.
There are still so many people living with the aftermath of Hurricane Florence in the Carolinas. LSC continues to be there to help.
