Rape Victim Refused a Picture

By Peter Njodzeka | Putting Smile on their Faces

Kellen Ernestine
Kellen Ernestine

1) Just as many other victims, Kellen Ernest in the North West of Cameroon during our visit in her village refused a photograph. She is shy and doesn't want her face out for people to know that she has been raped by her uncle. The result of this is a baby boy she is carrying on her back. LWDG-Cameroon has been advising and taking care of Kellen's son for the past 8 months, now she is a teacher at the nursery school in her village. She told us that because of our education to her, she has become the mother of all children and loves her son. We are happy because we are putting smiles on many faces like Kellen.

2) Edith is 18 years old and in a secondary school, no parents and leave with her aunt together with her junior sister who's in class 5 in the primary school. She was rape in 2008, the result of this rape is a baby boy, he is 7months old and Edith was unable to go to school again, LWDGC came into her life and now, she can smile and continue with here education, but unable to pay her school fees, buy her books and care for her son, her junior sister is unable to continue with her own education because she is babysitting Edith's son Marc. LWDGC with your support hopes to change Edith's life to see her succeed in her educational career. Edith will be going to high school next year. Edith is in Red and her jr sister with the baby in black.
