This program brings opportunities for teenagers to have access to Science and Technology, aiming to combat digital illiteracy and school dropout, inspiring vocations, and bringing opportunities for talented students in the area of Technology. "Alphabots" is a team that brings together alpha students and public schools to participate in a robotics competition, FIRST in the USA. We also work with value culture, social skills and promote robotics workshops in schools and communities.
In a country with millions of unemployed, about 1.3 million teenagers are out of school. Disinterest is one of the main causes. On the other hand, by 2030 there will be a deficit of 1 million IT professionals. These numbers of devastating effects show that Brazil has its progress halted by the level of preparation in digital education. This "technological exclusion" generates "economic gaps" and presents a new form of violence that leads to a way of maintaining and expanding inequalities.
It is necessary that technological education also happens in basic education so that students have access to this powerful tool for inclusion and socioeconomic development.Considering the great interest of young people in the theme, the use of technology teaching, with the use of practical workshops and competitions, triggers significant multidisciplinary learning and still stimulates vocation to technology. The student must maintain presence and good grades in the school to remain in the program.
It is expected that the teaching of Technology, for minorities and socially vulnerable children and adolescents, will bring intimacy to the theme opening opportunities to identify and leverage talents that may feel synergy with the area and welcome it as a future professional life. The possibility of student participation in international competitions stimulates engagement and contributes to their self-esteem and contributes to inspiring other students.
