Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donor,
First and foremost, thank you! Your donations will continue to empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Donors’ contributions have allowed Leadership Initiatives and their students to carry out their mission of improving lives in Bauchi through advocacy initiatives that are designed to enhance local participation and help community members find their voice. Miles, Adhvika, Nashwa, Siddarth, Nicholas, and Pranav have been engaged in months of cultural immersion and have been building connections with community leaders in northern Nigeria to address imperative advocacy issues that our communities are facing.
Team LA22111 has worked throughout the last seven months to create and develop a deep understanding for the lack of political education unique to the Inkil community.
Miles, Adhvika, Nashwa, Siddarth, Nicholas, and Pranav have been working with Auwal Yakubu, a project coordinator in the field in the Inkil community. Through Skype calls, the team has learned about the obstacles facing communities that are contributing to the general lack of political education. In January, Team LA22111 worked hard to create an advocacy proposal to address this issue in Inkil community. Your support of team LA22111 interns and their hard work is crucial to the success of each team and solution.
For team LA22111’s final intervention, Miles, Adhvika, Nashwa, Siddarth, Nicholas, and Pranav are preparing a community workshop to build individual and community capacity to address the lack of political education. By increasing knowledge and self-sufficiency through a range of activities such as outreach, community education, informal counseling, and social support, Miles, Adhvika, Nashwa, Siddarth, Nicholas, and Pranav hope to address and minimize the lack of political education in the Inkil community.
As a donor to this project, your support is a fantastic thing to have as we attempt to transform lives. Please consider participating in the upcoming Little by Little campaign GlobalGiving is hosting from April 3rd - April 7th, 2023.
