As part of Leadership Initiatives' International Internship Program, Ikeoluwa, Aaliyah, December, and Nancy are partnering with communities in Bauchi, Nigeria, to champion access to education, strengthen child protection, and advance gender equality. Through story gathering, research, and creative outreach campaigns, these interns are amplifying local voices, raising awareness, and driving initiatives that protect vulnerable groups while building the foundation for lasting community change.
In Northern Nigeria, countless young people face systemic injustice in their daily lives. Barriers such as limited access to education, early marriage, child labor, and gender-based violence stand in the way of their growth and potential. Many families lack the resources or legal knowledge to defend their rights, leaving vulnerable populations without protection. These challenges not only expose individuals to harm but also restrict their ability to build secure and promising futures.
