Dear Leadership Initiatives Donors,
Our team wanted to sincerely thank you all for your generous donations to Leadership Initiatives. Your money will empower individuals in Bauchi, Nigeria to fight for change and advocate for the empowerment of human rights. donation money allows those in Bauchi to facilitate campaigns which have the objective of terminating human rights abuses. This internship program has allowed our team to enlighten ourselves on the human rights issues in Nigeria, learn how to create effective campaign plans, and find the most effective ways on how to invite others to assist us with our fight for rights.
Our team works with local NGOs and government agencies in Nigeria to build human rights education programs, then design educational campaigns to train community leaders and develop teaching materials to carry out advocacy initiatives. Specifically, this project will help raise awareness and create community programs to fight sexual abuse of women and children in Nigeria.
Team 1121 interns have been working with LI Project Coordinator Auwal to assess the current human rights violations surrounding sexual abuse in the area. Currently, our team has just finished our second informational meeting with Auwal where we learned about the severity of sexual abuse in Nigeria and how the emergence of various protests has allowed women to unite and fight for change in society. Your encouragement of our team and our project will help transform lives, as fighting for change at a grassroots level sparks change across all socioeconomic facets of the community.
