By Marshall Bailly | Executive Director
Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donors,
First and foremost, thank you for your donations and helping us fund our public health initiative. With the help from your donations, our team will be able to empower individuals and communities throughout Bauchi State, Nigeria to address medical challenges. Doing so will not engender a generation of leaders who can use their resources to make an impact in their communities, but it will also provide individuals with critical knowledge to help prevent, treat, and combat diabetes and other public health issues affecting sub-Saharan Africa.
Recently, our team completed our public health issue briefings. This briefing offered a visual cumulation of all of our preliminary research that we have complied to gain a deeper understanding of diabetes and how it impacts communities in Bauchi. The brief includes an overview of the issue as well as an analysis of the biological, medical, social, and historical considerations pertaining to diabetes. Now that our research-based report is completed, we will now transition our skills to continue to work on saving lives in Bauchi.
Pattonville High School, IIP Team #1119, interns have been working with LI Project Coordinator Rashida to report on Diabetes in the area. As of now, the Pattonville interns are developing baseline surveys to identify trends and commonalities surrounding Diabetes, particularly in Bauchi communities. Your support coupled with the intensive research team 1119 has been conducting has allowed them to move forward with raising awareness to fight and prevent diabetes in Bauchi.
As a supporter of this project, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could best help work on their public health issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!
Your hard work and support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world. Thank you once again from the bottom of everyone's heart here at Leadership Initiatives. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.
Wishing you, your family, and your friends the absolute best!
Sincerely,
Team 1119
