Dear Amazing Leadership Initiatives Donor,
First of all, thank you so much for everything. Your donations have been and will be helping people across Bauchi State, Nigeria immensely by bringing awareness about various issues and giving them opportunities. Donors' contributions have allowed Leadership Initiatives and their students to spread the word about the human rights violation that is occurring in Nigeria and address such violation through campaigns, surveys, and letters. The students in our program have been engaged in months of cultural immersion and have been building wonderful connections with our partners in Nigeria to accomplish their goals of enhancing life in Bauchi, Nigeria and stopping abuse from happening--during the process, the students have learned their responsibilities as global citizens and educated themselves further, allowing more of others to be educated.
As noted, our students have been working throughout the fall semester to create and draft a brief about issues occurring in Nigeria. These briefs are the summation of the preliminary research they have done in an effort to gain a proper understanding of their advocacy issues and how they impact communities in Bauchi. Now that our students have completed this intensive research based report, they are using the knowledge and skills gained to continue their work to transform lives all around Bauchi. Currently, this project will help raise awareness and create community programs to fight the lack of education for girls.
Team 1068 interns have been working with LI Project Coordinator Auwal to assess the current human rights violations surrounding the lack of education for girls in the area. They have had multiple skype calls with their project coordinator to develop a relationship with them as well as go over vital information. Currently, the Team 1068 is working hard to bring more awareness to the issue by drafting a letter to the Human Rights Commission about it. Now that Team 1068 is equipped with your support and a deeper understanding of the violation of education rights of girls in Nigeria, they are moving forward on the path of raising awareness to fight it in Bauchi.
As a donator to this project, your support is an amazing thing to have as we attempt to transform lives. Everyone at Leadership Initiatives would love to have you more involved in our organization if you would ever want to help us grow our programs or learn more about ways that you can assist. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments!
On behalf of everyone at Leadership Initiatives, thank you for everything that you have done. We all truly appreciate your donation and support for our organization. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can personally see the change you are creating.
Wishing you the absolute best!
Sincerely,
Team 1068
