Falls Church School Students Transforming Lives

By Marshall Bailly and IIP Team #1050 | Executive Director

Dear Leadership Initiatives Donors,

We want to start off by saying thank you! Your donations have helped greatly throughout Bauchi State, Nigeria and and will continue to provide individuals with the opportunity to work towards solving local issues and utilizing their resources. Your contributions have allowed Leadership Initiatives to achieve their goal of improving lives through supporting healthcare initiatives and working to create educational programs. Our team has been working on immersing ourselves in the culture as well as building connections with our partners in Nigeria to work towards accomplishing our goals of preventing and treating public health issues in Bauchi State.

We recently completed our public health issue briefing on malnutrition. This brief was a summary of our research conducted to gain a better understanding of malnutrition and how it impacts the Bauchi community. The brief included an overview of malnutrition as well as a biological, medical, social, and historical analysis relating to the issue. We are now using the knowledge we gained to continue to work on saving lives in Bauchi.

Our team, Falls Church High School Team 1050, has been working with LI Project Coordinator Umar to report on malnutrition in the area. Currently, we are working on completing our survey questions, which will be distributed to Bauchi State community members. Now that we are equipped with your support and a deeper understanding of malnutrition, we are moving forward to raise awareness and create community programs to fight it in Bauchi.

As a supporter of this project, Leadership Initiatives would love to have you involved if you ever want to help grow our programs, learn of ways you can participate, or have new ideas on how this team could best help work on their public health issue. Please contact Executive Director Marshall Bailly at mbailly@lichange.org if you have any suggestions, questions, or comments! Your hard work and support is the greatest gift we could receive as we attempt to create a better world.

Thank you once again for your contribution. If you would ever like to speak to our staff in Nigeria or this specific project leader, we would love to communicate with you so you can see the change you are creating.

Wishing you all the best!

Sincerely,

Falls Church High School Team #1050
