To our incredible donors:
Thank you! Your donations will continue to empower individuals and communities across Bauchi State, Nigeria, giving them the opportunity to form connections and address local issues using community resources. Throughout these past months, our team has been researching and discussing sexual abuse and what we can do for the Bauchi community with the help of our project coordinator Auwal Yakubu. This research has culminated in the creation of a comprehensive brief on sexual abuse and its effects, a community survey to be conducted in Bauchi, as well as letters to Nigeria’s Human Rights Board. The brief is the summation of the preliminary research we have done in an effort to gain a proper understanding Bauchi both perceives and handles cases of sexual abuse, including an outline of what can be done improve a community response. We’re now able to use the knowledge and skills gained to continue our work to transform lives all around Bauchi. Currently, this project will help raise awareness and create community workshops to fight the sexual abuse of women and children. Through this research, the aid of Mr. Yakubu, and the commitment of our team, we’re moving forward in support of victims of sexual assault throughout the Bauchi community.
Your contributions are what have allowed us to carry out this mission of improving lives of victims of human rights abuses and create advocacy and awareness campaigns.
