In our mission to reach as many children as possible, it's an honor to work together with the Department of Education. As the executive department of the Philippine government, DepEd is responsible for ensuring access to, promoting equity in, and improving the quality of basic education. And with its plan of upscaling the education curriculum by adding financial education and entrepreneurship, we are happy that out team has been invited as a presentor and contributor for the this initiative to finally include into Financial Literacy into the Basic Education Curriculum.
Last, August 27 - September 1, 2017, the NATCCO Children and Team shared the Aflatoun program to various educators during DepEd’s initial competency write-shop held at the BP International Makiling in Los Baños, Laguna. Financial Education across all grade levels is one of the major moves for the K to 12 Program. NATCCO Network, through its Aflatoun Program, has been established as one of DepEd's Program Partners in the development and roll-out of Financial Literacy competencies and education for its national integration across the BEC.
The Children and Youth team of NATCCO were also graced with the presence of Mr. Arnel Doctolero, Asst. Schools Division Superintendent of DepEd Ilocos Sur and Ms. Teresa Penecilla, District Supervisor of DepEd Iloilo, who are active implementors and trainers of the Aflatoun Program in their respective regions. Among other Program partners are Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas and Philippine Life Insurance Association, Inc.
