Sta. Cruz Development Cooperative (SACDECO), one of NATCCO's earlier partners in advocating social and financial education, organized an Aflatoun Teachers’ Training on April 22-23, 2015 at Mapandan Central School in Pangasinan. Fifty two (52) teachers from nine (9) schools attended the training together with the Department of Education Supervisor of Pangasinan and four (4) school principals. Kudos to SACDECO for taking the initiative of reorienting their teachers in the spirit of social and financial education through the Aflatoun program!
Not more than a week later, fifty seven (57) teachers from nine (9) different schools attended the Aflatoun Teachers’ Training organized by Mambajao Credit Cooperative (MCC) and NATCCO on April 27-28, 2015 at Villa Paraiso, Mambajao, Camiguin. Mahinog Central School, Mambajao Central School, Yumbing High School, Agoho Elementary School, Camiguin High School, Baylao Elementary School, and Puntod Elementary School were actively represented by their teachers throughout the two-day training. Three (3) representatives from the DepEd Division Office of Camiguin, including the Schools Division Superintendent Roy Angelo E. Gazo, also joined the activities in support of the program’s implementation. Mr. Gazo gave his full commitment in implementing the program in the entire division. His vision is to make Camiguin an Aflatoun island. NATCCO is confident that the program’s roll out in Camiguin will be successfully sustained by everyone’s commitment and motivation.
