Tagalog Translation: Aflatoun in Mother-Tongue

By Anna Del Rosario | Youth Program Associate

In fulfillment of NATCCO’s Aflatoun Mother Tongue integration project in partnership with Citi Foundation, the Aflatoun Team conducted a Teachers’ Training on April 16-17, 2015 in the Training Hall of San Dionisio Credit Cooperative (SDCC) – also one of the host co-ops for the Aflatoun Mother Tongue project. Rachelle Alzona, Corporate Citizenship Officer of Citi Foundation, also attended the training and shared her insights to ensure the success of the implementation of the program in schools.

The Teachers’ Training focused on the “Tagalog” integration of Aflatoun concepts and was delivered to the following schools: Sampaloc Site II Elementary School, San Dionisio Elementary School, San Antonio Elementary School, Parañaque Elementary School, La Huerta Elementary School, Parañaque Elementary School Central, and Escuela De San Dionisio.

NATCCO greatly appreciates the support from the Department of Education Division of Parañaque City and likewise, to the dedicated Aflatoun implementers in SDCC. Aflatoun Teachers’ Trainings help develop financially literate teachers who are committed to advocate the program and share its concepts to the children. The Mother Tongue translation project is now live in four areas and the whole network is looking forward to a successful integration of social and financial education that would develop socially capable and financially literate children.
