Samal City, Philippines - New Aflatoun savers enjoyed the activities of the program launching held last June 19-20, 2014. The event was organized in cooperation with one of NATCCO's local partner, Samal Island Multi-Purpose Cooperative (SIMC).
The implementation was a good start for SIMC because the Program undoubtedly adds value to its efforts in improving the community's social awareness, economic stability, and youth development. Hundreds of children were present during the launching and most were able to open their Aflatoun savings account and even received passbooks and coin banks from SIMC. Children were ecstatic about learning and saving with Aflatoun; parents and teachers were confident that the Program will not only help yield more savings but also hone children to be empowered, practical, and responsible citizens - living up to the Aflatoun vision and mission.
