In celebration of this year’s International Aflatoun Day, Lamac Multi-Purpose Cooperative together with its partner schools organized a human formation of the Aflatoun figurehead. The day started early for the students who took part in the formation. At around 9 AM, Aflatoun’s head was slowly taking shape on Lamac's landscape with its mouth curving into a big smile. The morning was warm with fun and cooperation as more than 1,000 Aflatoun savers wore color-coded shirts and stayed in place as co-op officers took photos and videos of the formation. Everyone was proud to have done the feat, posting their photos online and sharing them with fellow Aflatoun savers around the world. This was followed by several other activities showcasing different talents and youth enterprises. Exhibits were also put up for the children’s handicrafts, artworks, and projects. Involvement in the Aflatoun Program has definitely taught children how to live the values of responsible saving, spending, and sharing giving them a favorable edge in building a better future for themselves and for the community.
