Project Report | Dec 18, 2020
Saving the Environment, one Youth at a time!

By Eniko Jaimee Reyes, Hazel Ann Lenida | Youth Program Associate, Youth Program Officer III

Capping off the month of November and congratulating our 37 Youth Climate Change Warriors in the cooperative movement who have successfully completed the online Climate Action on Youth Training of Trainers held last November 25-26, 2020.
The NATCCO Youth Team collaborated with NATCCO Diaspora headed by Ms. Lasalette Gumban in the hopes of providing a comprehensive and deep learning on combating the pressing issues of climate change. The two-day training provided ten sessions intended for the youth's contribution to SDG No. 13, Climate Action.
Alongside these sessions are fruitful discussions to reflect on current and future youth climate action programs with the initiative and guidance of local partner cooperatives. This training emphasized one's habits to calculate our contribution to alleviate the inevitable environmental issues our world is facing.
Last December 4, 2020, 18 partner cooperatives have presented their Action Plan to promote and sustain programs that would further involve our youth members to prioritize and be responsible to the needs of our environment starting with our local communities.
This training will not be possible without the support of our NATCCO CEO Sylvia Paraguya and ETCG Group Head Daisybelle Cabal. The team would also want to extend our gratitude to our resource speakers who have given their invaluable knowledge and heart of advocating green practices. Our great appreciation to Greenpeace Philippines Climate Change Justice Campaigner, Virginia Benosa-Llorin; ACCU CEO Elenita San Roque and ACCU Chief of Technical Team Ranjith Hettiarachchi; NATCCO KRC Unit Head Rose Gob and Sir Diosdado Luna from NATCCO MRNG. Lastly, we would also like to thank ICA-AP Program Director Savitri Singh for gracing the event with a meaningful inspirational message to our Climate Change Warriors.
