For the month of September, the Aflatoun International collaborated with the NATCCO Children and Youth Team to officially launch the Aflateen+ Digital Curriculum with the latter’s 158 partner cooperatives who have been implementing the Aflatoun program in the Philippines since 2007.
Aflateen+ is the latest curriculum that served as a tool to address issues on gender equality while providing social and financial education to young boys and girls of the current and future generation which now has a digital curriculum, Aflateen+ Life Skills and Financial Education through Gender Lens.
On September 9-11, 2020, the NATCCO Youth Team and 20 participants from 14 partner cooperative were fortunate to participate on a three-day online trainers’ training on Aflateen+ Financial Education and Life Skills Digital Curriculum led by Aflatoun International Program Manager for Asia, Lucky Lemingkewas and Digital Learning Manager, Maxwell Kyei Baffour.
It aims to provide different digital approaches in distance learning while using the active learning methodologies of the Aflateen+ Digital Curriculum. It also emphasized the roles of online facilitators in achieving this method with their participants through demo teaching in online facilitation. It also encouraged us to explore and make use of Facebook groups as an online social learning platform for limitless feedback of knowledge and a productive connection with the young learners.
