We are indeed blessed to have been assisted by numerous partners all over the years. Ever since the Aflatoun program started more than a decade ago here in the Philippines, all of our achievements would not be accomplished if it wasn't done with the help of our local and international contributing partners. So, thanks to you, also, Global givers!
Half of this year, we are honored to have been part of the chosen organizations who received financial assistance from the Embassy of Canada in the Philippines thru their program Canada Fund for Local Initiatives (CFLI). The objective of the chosen activities and programs is to reach and help out to the residents of the poorest provinces in the Philippines. For our program, our vision and mission is to extend the social and financial literacy to the children and youth sector in the poorest Philippine provinces, most specifically in the Visayas Region.
For this funded project, we have joint force, effort, and ideas with 3 of our local cooperative partners and Department of Education Division Offices in Negros Oriental, Siquijor, and Northern Samar. Bonbonon Farmers Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Negros Oriental, Perpetual Help Community Cooperative (PHCCI) in Siquijor, and Northern Samar Multi-Purpose Cooperative in Northen Samar.
Together, we have conducted activities, such as trainings, meeting, and workshop, for the different stakeholders—teachers, parents, community officers, and our dear children. Starting from the month of August, we have already conducted orientation meetings, teachers’ Training, Parent’s orientation, and School Launchings with approval from the Department of Education. For the upcoming year, 2018, we will be conducting Youth Entrepreneurship Training to hone the entrepreneurial skills of the children and youth in those provinces in Visayas under these partnership project, as well.
Till next update, keep saving!
